Temporary Collector
This temporary role is expected to last approximately 12 months.
The purpose of this role is to deal with existing Customers who are experiencing short or long term financial difficulty in maintaining their contractual monthly instalments towards their mortgage / secured loan payments
Your duties will include:
Answering all inbound calls to the dedicated Customer Support number.
Dealing with inbound correspondence (paper & electronic) from customers, authorised 3rd parties, solicitors, estate agents, Mortgage Rescue Fast Track Team, councils / housing associations / local authorities etc.
Conducting detailed Income and Expenditure reviews using electronic I&E form.
Working with customers to reduce unsecured/non priority debt.
Giving the best advice and tailor appropriate solution to assist customers in financial difficulty to move forwards.
Negotiating and managing reduced informal payment plans in line with current Customer Support procedures.
Reviewing completed and broken arrangements and take appropriate action, including referring accounts back to Collections.
Containing knowledge of benefits and benefit forms (e.g. MI12) and be able to provide useful telephone numbers / websites to customers in difficulty that could have a positive impact upon their circumstances.
Liaising with other Teams (e.g. Litigation / Arrears Resolution) regarding customers in danger of eviction to ensure we have explored all options available to help the customer to prevent this.
Managing assisted sale / mortgage rescue scheme / mortgage to rent schemes in line with company policy
Liaise with external 3rd parties (estate agents, solicitors, local authorities etc.) on regular basis to get updates on properties being marketed for sale and those going through mortgage rescue.
The ideal candidate will have;
A minimum of 12 months experience in collections
Knowledge of financial review for reduced payments
Good PC skills including MS Excel and Word
A clear and concise telephone manner
Excellent negotiation skills
Excellent objection handling skills
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
The ability to work to targets
Experience in working to deadlines in a fast paced environment
Strong problem solving skills
An understanding of FSA and TCF
Excellent time and attendance management
The ability to work as part of a Team
