Job Title - Reliability Engineer (Instrumentation)
Location - Ellesmere Port
Salary - £30- 35,000 plus pension and health care
Hours - 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, 8.30am - 3.30pm Friday
1 week in 7, on call
Role Information
*To be responsible for driving improvements to equipment and system reliability
Candidate must have the following
*The successful candidate will be qualified with an accredited Honours Degree in a relevant Engineering subject
*Will either have chartered status or be progressing towards it
*Will possess good co-operation and team working skills
*Communicate effectively and hold meetings with all levels of the organisation
*Have desire to improve the mills performance together with personal experience, knowledge base and promote these aspects simultaneously with effective instrumentation and isolation training to other employees
Responsibilities
*Originating and developing analysis methods to allow component, equipment and system reliability to be determined
*Managing data acquisition, it's subsequent analysis and conversion to risk assessed improvement actions
*Preparing reliability problem definition through use of diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations and reports
*Leading analysis of reliability problems through team based approach to derive specific improvement actions, activities, methods and procedures (root cause analysis, FMEA, 5 why's SMED etc)
*Developing and monitoring reliability measures to track improvements and their sustainability
*Evaluating reliability improvement benefits against cost effectiveness objectives in order to prioritise initiatives
*Working with maintenance and operations personnel to ensure effective implementation of revised maintenance/operating procedures
*Liaising with OEM's and providing input to project/contractor issues and management
*Supporting the Maintenance Department in the management of instrumentation and control system elements
*Control of the specifications and standards of equipment and materials
*Communicating to all employees the instrumentation issues that affect personnel, efficiency and productivity of the plant
*Utilisation of AS400 Maintenance Management System
*Ensuring risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work including accident/incident investigations are produced and that the relevant communication takes place.
