    Job Title - Maintenance Electrical/Instrument Craftsperson

    Location - Ellesmere Port

    Salary - £27,000 plus pension and health care

    Hours - 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, 8.30am - 3.30pm Friday
    1 week in 5, on call


    Role Information

    *To support the shift and Maintenance Supervisors in ensuring the plant keeps operating by undertaking fault finding, running repairs and preventative maintenance to the electrical distribution system, process plant and equipment.

    *Operate as first call on breakdown requests.

    *Ensuring effective and efficient use of resources (manpower and materials) in a safe, cost effective and environmentally sound manner.


    The ideal candidate should have the following skills

    *To have the competency, training and experience to identify and make safe an electrical incident on any entity or circuit on the company Electrical Distribution System. (Up to and including 11KV)
    *Hold a company level 2 Electrical Isolation Certificate. (training will be given)
    *Be competent to fault find any 11kv circuit such as Oil and Vacuum circuit breakers, motor starters and associated electrical equipment.
    *Be able to understand single line and protection schematic diagrams and instrument loop sheets. Carry out fault finding on protection and control systems and on general instrumentation.
    *Have an understanding of Honeywell DCS system and the site PLC systems. Carry out minor repairs and reloads as required.
    *Must be computer literate.
    *To ensure risk assessments are undertaken and that the relevant actions take place before work commences. To comply with all reporting systems required by the company.

    *To work closely and effectively with personnel from all departments, to encourage good co-operation and team working with minimal inter personnel conflict.
    *To work coherently in a team with personnel from other sections and departments in a self motivated manner and be capable of working alone as required.
    *To operate effectively within the company policies on health and safety, the environment, quality and other personnel policies.
    *To communicate effectively across the organisation, attending meetings as required, to provide feedback verbally and by means of the shift log, giving information to supervision on repair work that has been carried out or completed. Ensure that all jobs are left in a safe manner.
    *To cooperate with undertaking any Safety, Technical or personal development training identified by the company. To inform the company of any training that may be required to undertake the role asked of you and endeavour to keep up with technical advances.
