Integrated Transport Division (ITD) maintains a diverse range of skills related to the complete life cycle of transport solutions.
We are currently looking for a Rail Planner to lead on the delivery of Our clients current portfolio of work and build on the continuing success and growth of our national and international business.
Job description:
An integral member of the planning team, the Rail Planner will be involved in a range of rail planning projects and assisting in these project directions. Responsibilities of the role will include the following:
Progress reporting, monitoring the project, updating schedules and assessing its progress in line with deadlines
Ensure that projects are carried out to the appropriate technical standard
Mentoring less experienced engineers on consultancy processes
Ensure the work of a team is managed to programme and budget
With time, project management; includes liaising with the client and responsibility for commercial issues
Manage input from our clients specialists to help drive the strategic areas of planning, development and control, Intelligent Transport Systems and growth funding
The role will be required to support the tendering team to produce programmes and other deliverables in support of bids for railway (signalling, telecoms & civils) projects
Candidate specification:
Applicants must have excellent commercial and financial management awareness, be committed to providing high quality solutions and advice to clients and have first class report writing, project management, supervisory, communication and technical ability.
Candidates should be experienced within rail planning
A MSc in a transport related subject would be preferred, as would professional membership of a relevant institution,
Strong knowledge of technical transport planning environments, knowledge of the UK transport planning market.
An understanding of programme planning for construction / installation projects
Ability to produce methodologies / method statements.
Capable to represent the company in meetings with clients and other contractors
