A Research Associate position in synthetic or physical polymer chemistry is available immediately until 31 March 2011. The project aims to develop high mobility solution processible organic semiconductors as part of the Northernway Printed Electronics Consortia.
The specific objectives of the role are to synthesise and characterize solution processable organic semi-conductors. You should have, or shortly expect to obtain, a PhD or equivalent in a relevant area, such as Chemistry, Materials or Physics. You should also possess experience on one or more of the areas of Polymer Chemistry, Polymer Physics, Characterisation of Conjugated Materials, Characterisation of Polymer Films, and Thin Film Solution Processing. Good team working, communication and time management skills are also essential.
The post will be based in the Organic Materials Innovation Centre of the School of Chemistry and may appeal to someone with a background in a relevant area of experimental chemistry, physics or materials science.
