We seek a Research Associate to play a central role in a project investigating the mechanisms underlying the novel redox-regulated mitochondrial protein import and disulphide bond formation pathway. The research will be based in modern laboratories in the Manchester Interdisciplinary Biocentre (MIB) within a large and vibrant research grouping. The project will employ a range of biophysical, biochemical and biological methods including molecular biology, protein purification, spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, enzyme kinetics, redox chemistry, mitochondrial import assays, and yeast genetics.
You will be a highly enthusiastic individual seeking to develop your career in an exciting, challenging and internationally competitive environment. You will hold (or expect to hold shortly) a PhD degree in a relevant biological sciences discipline and have relevant experience in biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology, and/or yeast genetics.
This BBSRC-funded post is available from 1 November 2010 for up to 36 months.
