Job Description

The University of Manchester is seeking to appoint a Media Relations Officer to assist in providing a coordinated and proactive Media Relations operation for the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences and the wider University community, in line with the strategic objectives of the University's Manchester 2015 agenda.

You will be a talented, creative and multi-skilled communications specialist with a detailed appreciation of the workings of the Media. You will also be required to develop excellent relationships with University staff and Media contacts at all levels and contribute to the development of a Media relations strategy for the Faculty.
You will have substantial experience in journalism and/or media relations, a degree or job-related qualification and knowledge of best practice to ensure proactive and effective media coverage for the Faculty and the University.
This position is fixed term for 1 year.
