Job Description
You will work on a project to support embryonic stem cell research as part of a 3 year programme funded by the MRC to develop the derivation and characterisation of new human embryonic stem cell lines at Good Manufacturing Practice standards for clinical therapeutic use.
Duties will include monitoring of laboratory stocks and supplies on a daily basis carrying out a monthly stock take including the ordering of consumables and maintain stock levels of cleanroom garments on a weekly basis. Identify and report any defects, errors unusual incidents or events encountered during laboratory procedures and reporting any problems with equipment. Under the guidance of the Research Technician and Cleanroom Laboratory Manager carry out culture of human embryonic stem cell (hESC) lines and characterise the stem cells lines and cultures using a variety of staining techniques. Other duties within the general scope of post may be required.
The post is available for 12 months in the first instance.
