Due to the expansion of its operations, my client has an immediate need for Commercial Managers, Contracts Engineers/Manager and Quantity Surveyors across various locations.
The company is headquartered in Dubai, UAE and is involved in major construction projects.
Responsibilities will include
Verification of budgets and cost estimates for design and construction, variation orders and design consultant or contractor claims, Commercial evaluation of bid submittals from contractors and consultants
Assist with the pre-qualification of separate contractors, vendors and suppliers.
Assist with the analysis and evaluation of design proposal submissions, and construction tenders.
Assist with the evaluation and negotiation of design consultant and construction contractor change orders and claims.
Responsible for the coordination of project tendering efforts, which include protecting and promoting the interests of the Client in all commercial transactions.
Manage the projects purchasing schedule and report on the status of tendering and attend any project meetings as required.
Oversee the tendering of contract packages from pre-qualified contractors in accordance with the Contract Documents to conform to the project schedule and budget.
Oversee the coordination efforts of the contracts package managers with the construction and design department in creating the general and special conditions, safety requirements and scope of Works to be included in each package.
Establish the pre-qualification and approval of tenderers to identify financially and technically sound companies acceptable to the Client and the Company.
Oversee the preparation of and issuance of Invitations to Bid.
Oversee the scheduling of pre-bid meetings, receive and follow for answers to questions from bidders, distribute Addenda, Circulars, etc. during the tendering period.
Receive tenders for the various packages, oversee the package managers preparation of tender analysis spreadsheets, conduct scope review and negotiations with competitive tenderers to confirm compliance with scope and project requirements, manpower, schedule, logistics plans and any other project specific requirements.
Oversee the preparation of contracts and follow up for execution, receipt of insurance certificates, advance payment and bank guarantees.
The right candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Suitable relevant degree with 7+ years of experience in multinational construction companies
- Experience on high rise, hotels, housing, retail and commercial developments
- Proven leadership and communication skills
- Willing to relocate
